I have dealt with Townends for three years in a row now renting as a tenant. They are always very helpful and everything has always gone through very smoothly. I would definitely recommend using them.

What a bunch of ********!!
Very unprofessional and rude. They charge for almost anything you could imagine and when you need them they simply do not care.

Among other things too tedious to mention, the negotiator made a habit of trying to bully me over the phone, including trying to bully and frighten me into accepting a totally unjustified reduction just before exchange. This was Townends Putney - other branches may be better, but I don't intend to find out.

What an appalling bunch. Townends showed me a flat in the middle of being renovated, but when I got there it was in a terible mess - dirty and with work half completed.
They want bundles of money for ever simple action they carry out. For example, because I wanted to change my check out date as I would be abroad they wanted £100!!!! What a rip-off. They took several visits to complete simple repairs and will accept no responsiblity for anything.
My advice is to steer clear of Townends at all costs.

They helped me to fid a nice flat but after I decided to live there, their helpfulness disappeared. They checked all my references twice - sure there is no need to do that!
I told them I was getting married and my wife would move in with me a couple of months later. They said it's not a problem. Then they wanted another £200 fee that they never told me about beforehand.
